Ocean Institute has partnered with Blue Water Entertainment to bring four award-winning filmmakers and their films to Ocean Institute for unique encounters. The Fall film series will feature interviews with filmmakers and movie screenings of four different films from September through December. Each film explores current marine and environmental topics- such as protecting fish species in a state of crisis to the biodiversity and protecting the ocean. These four filmmakers are all this year’s winners of the 3rd Annual Blue Water Film Festival. Food and drinks will be available for purchase. VIP experience available. The series consists of four thought-provoking films.

• Aquariums: The Dark Hobby October 19, 2022, 6:30-9 pm
• Antarctica: Microplastics and Machine Learning November 17, 2022, 6:30-9 pm
• The Witness is a Whale December 1, 2022,6:30-9 pm
• Soul of the Ocean January, specific date is TBD 

The mission of the Blue Water Film Festival is to encourage attendees to think broadly about how climate change affects planet Earth and think deeply about the universal concerns and actions needed to bring us into balance. 50% of all film selections are non-US productions, helping to fulfill the festival's mission of promoting cross-cultural understanding through film. BWFF showcases independent films— long, short, narrative and documentary — and animated films and introduces unique and diverse content focused on environmental storytelling to our audiences. The festival is committed to exhibiting films that express fresh voices and differing global perspectives to enlighten audiences, educate, provide invaluable exposure for filmmakers, and present inspired entertainment for the sole purpose of the environment.
