Wyland Dolphin and Whale Adventures, Art Lessons in the Wild
Renowned environmental artist Wyland, is partnering once again with Dana Wharf Whale Watching for a fourth straight year. The Wyland Dolphin and Whale Adventures, Art Lessons in the Wild program begins January 24, 2015, and continues Saturdays through April 25, 2015. Passengers will learn how marine wildlife continues to inspire Wyland to create some of the most well-known art pieces of our time, while children will receive an art lesson from Wyland himself via a video feed. The adventure includes pre-boarding at 9am and each child participating will be entered into a contest to win prizes. Children ages 3-12, who take the art lesson (with a $5 donation) will receive a free whale watching ticket at the end of the session. The free trip must be used that day at 10 am and must be accompanied by an adult who has pre-purchased a whale-watching ticket. The Wyland Foundation's mission is to empower children to become more creative, positive, and solution-oriented through public art programs. All art submissions will be judged by Wyland himself (in three age categories, 3-5, 6-8 and 9-12), with multiple winners and a grand prize winner. The grand prize is a 45"x 26.5" framed, limited edition signed and numbered giclee on paper of Wyland's "Celebrate the Sun," valued at more than $3,500.
